These are ketubahs suitable for any ceremony. Each handcrafted ketubah is a unique masterpiece, written on fine parchment, designed according to our special requests. And this is done so the result will be as you always dreamt… contact me, I will be very glad to make an appointment and present you in our meeting with a wide variety of texts and ideas.
Can anybody write and illustrate the ketubah? Yes! It is important to strictly supervise the text accuracy and get the rabbi or the ceremony organizer approval, but except this sole restriction; anybody can write and illustrate a ketubah.
Additionally, the tradition of illustrating a ketubah is ancient and respected, and was developed throughout generations in the Jewish communities all over the world.
When it is necessary to perform a Mitzvah with certain tools, it is befitting to use nice tools, and decorate them in a festive and pleasant way.
Even though, for most of the ceremonies the rabbi supplies a readymade and printed ketubah, today, more and more couples choose to bring to the ceremony their own ketubah made by an artist, handcrafted according to their requirements and that represents their choice of requests and their unique taste.
Together we will be able to create a significant and exciting document that will symbolize for you the beginning of your life together as husband and wife.
How to order? The procedure is very simple – after you inspected the ketubah gallery in the site, we will make an appointment. In the meeting I will show you additional samples, and you will be able to see the parchment and the materials that I use. Together we will decide on the design of the ketubah – the colors, the design, the size, etc. The final price will be set according to these different parameters.

Is the ketubah kosher? The ketubah is not a religious document, but it is a traditional document, therefore women can also write a ketubah. A kosher ketubah is a ketubah that has not mistakes in the text or spelling errors. I guarantee to provide you with a kosher ketubah by approving the text with you and with the rabbi that will perform the ceremony. This double approval guarantees that the ketubah is kosher and intact!
Can a free style text be added to an orthodox ketubah? It depends on the rabbi that performs the ceremony. In case that the rabbi does not approve, you can create a separate document that will express your love and read it immediately after the ceremony is completed.
Writing on parchment – leather! I highly recommend writing the ketubah on real parchment – leather.
The leather that I use is the finest leather (it is used to write Torah scrolls and Mezuzahs); it has a special texture that gives to the ketubah an ancient and authentic look. The bright color of the parchment emphasizes the color and the illustration. The parchment is stronger than paper, therefore it can be preserved better throughout the years.
Writing on leather guarantees a special and original document that will accompany you and your family throughout hundreds of years, and will serve as a memory for generations.
Consultation and assistance writing the text! For a conservative, reform or secular ceremony the couple writes its own text.
In these ceremonies the ketubah is a covenant, a promise, a love agreement that according to which you will establish your life together. This is an immense and not easy responsibility, but from my own experience – it is worth to put the effort, to try and to write your own text, to commit yourselves, and to express the feelings from the heart.
A little inspiration can be a great help. Click here and you can get immediately some samples from the “Collection of texts by Shiri” - A unique booklet with a wide variety of ketubah texts. For an orthodox ceremony – For this type of ceremony the text is set and firm. It can be obtained at the Rabbinate Office or directly from the rabbi that will perform the ceremony.
After writing the text, it is sent to the rabbi to get his final approval.
How much does it cost?
The price of the ketubah starts from 1,800 NIS.
The prices are set according to the length of the ketubah, type of paper and the illustration, special and unique requests.
