Why a printed ketubah? The printed ketubah provides flexibility in the price and availability. Still, the design of the ketubahs is original and the printing quality is top of the line.
High quality printing As in the handcrafted ketubahs, I also insist to get here only the best. When ordering a printed ketubah it is important to pay attention to the printing quality, the quality of the paper and the quality of the ink.
A print that is not made with the best materials will soon lose its beauty and will fade throughout the years, therefore, I print my ketubahs by order only, with a special printer designated to print work of arts. The printing is done on a special paper suitable for this type of artistic creations – cotton rag (350 gr.) textured and acid free (cotton rag acid free is also called archival paper: a paper that keeps its characteristics and does not spoil or deteriorates throughout the years).
The ink plays a major role of importance in color superiority and its ability to provide this lasting quality throughout the years. I use the original Epson ink “UltraChrome” which guarantees longevity and permanence.
A combination of both high quality paper and ink guarantees that your gift will preserve its quality for at least 75 years!!! (Indoor conditions only). For comparison only – laser printing starts fading after the first year!!!
What is the purpose of purchasing a ketubah that will fade and deteriorate after a few years?
New service: Printing on real parchment – leather: This is the leather that is also used for Torah Scrolls, Tefillin and Mezuzah. The same top of the line printing, but this time on a real parchment (on it I create the masterpiece). The leather that I use is the finest leather; it has a special texture that gives to the ketubah an ancient and authentic look. The bright color of the parchment emphasizes the color and the illustration. The parchment is stronger than paper, therefore it can be preserved better throughout the years.
Writing on leather guarantees a special and original document that will accompany you and your family throughout hundreds of years, and will serve as a memory for generations.
Gilding When you design different part of a ketubah that include a gold color, printing with gold will never be that same as writing in gold by hand. This is why, after printing the ketubah, I use a special brush to go over the gold parts again.
Price list All the ketubahs can be printed in two different sizes, by printing on paper or real parchment – leather (on which the Torah Scrolls and the Mezuzahs are written). All the ketubahs can be done without gilding, or gilded with gold color or gilded with gold leaves 23 Karat.
Small print – 31 x 42 cm. (A little bigger than a A3 paper)

Is the ketubah kosher? Yes! the Ketubah is kosher! The ketubah is not a religious document, but it is a traditional document, therefore women can also write a ketubah. A kosher ketubah is a ketubah that has not mistakes in the text or spelling errors. I guarantee to provide you with a kosher ketubah by approving the text with you and with the rabbi that will perform the ceremony. This double approval guarantees that the ketubah is kosher and intact!
Can a free style text be added to an orthodox ketubah? It depends on the rabbi that performs the ceremony. In case that the rabbi does not approve, you can create a separate document that will express your love and read it immediately after the ceremony is completed.
Consultation and assistance writing the text! For a conservative, reform or secular ceremony the couple writes its own text.
In these ceremonies the ketubah is a covenant, a promise, a love agreement that according to which you will establish your life together. This is an immense and not easy responsibility, but from my own experience – it is worth to put the effort, to try and to write your own text, to commit yourselves, and to express the feelings from the heart.
A little inspiration can be a great help. Click here and you can get immediately some samples from the “Collection of texts by Shiri” - A unique booklet with a wide variety of ketubah texts. In our personal meeting I will be glad to introduce to you my full collection, to help with the wording and the proofing until getting a perfect result.
For an orthodox ceremony – For this type of ceremony the text is set and firm. It can be obtained at the Rabbinate Office or directly from the rabbi that will perform the ceremony.
After writing the text, it is sent to the rabbi to get his final approval.
A ketubah that is made to order for the couple Each ketubah is printed upon placing the order only. Any custom personalized text can be integrated in the ketubah, so your names will be written, the location of the ceremony, the date and any other detail that might be required. In my possession, I have a large collection of various texts that are suitable for different ceremonies. On our meeting I will be glad to assist you to choose and word the final text.
Do you want to think about the text prior to our meeting?
Send me an e-mail and I will send you a variety of texts.
